Digital is everywhere — that’s how you might think.
Meanwhile, there is a special digital feature in more and more everyday objects, which is mostly still «smart». Smart Watches, Smart Home, Smart Phone, Internet of Things and even «smart dog clothes». Many of these new smart everyday helpers bring with them a lot of advantages and often change our everyday lives for the better. But in contrast to previous electrical appliances from the 70s, 80s and 90s, these are not firmly connected to the mains via a cable, but have their own battery. These batteries consist of rare earths and many other precious raw materials.
As technology advances at a rapid rate, many of these new devices, which are still high-tech today but have their day-to-tomorrow tomorrow, are quickly becoming a waste industry — or more precisely, recycling.
The recycling of these batteries is important and necessary, so that the valuable raw materials installed in the batteries are preserved. For this reason, the economy faces two major challenges that must be tackled with the «smart» age.
On the one hand, the efficient recycling of rechargeable batteries in order to be able to recycle the raw materials, on the other hand the exact design, planning and development of rechargeable batteries and devices that allow the simple and economical recycling of these rechargeable batteries.
In the coming years, we will get to know numerous new technologies and methods for efficient recycling and look forward to the future.
We will keep you up to date.
