Imagine you are a commuter working around 500km from home. Most likely you would spend the week at home working place and only the weekends home, because the journey by car or train simply too long, or the journey is too expensive.

But what if you needed just over an hour for the 500km track? Would you commute daily? Probably yes.

The multi-entrepreneur Elon Musk as well as the company Virgin with their respective systems show us that this possibility is no longer necessarily a vision of the future.

The Hyperloop is a kind of extra-long pipe system in which a vacuum prevails and in which individual transport capsules for people (or even goods) are transported at extremely high speed.

Such a transport system could, with appropriate timing, reduce the environmental impact of high emission levels of car dealers and freight traffic and save our everyday life a lot of time.

Whether such a system in Germany has a future is questionable, since we have a nationwide motorway and train network in this country. However, as a means of transport within the EU, a European Hyperloop system would be a nice addition.
