They are considered the symbol of progressiveness and a cleaner future without pollution – e-cars.
Tesla, BMW, Mercedes, Jaguar and now also Audi launch all-electric cars on the market and advertise with high environmental impact and less burden on the environment and us humans.
That we steer through the new electric drives in a future with purer air, should not be denied. Nevertheless, the e-cars in the bill “electricity = less pollution” do not consider a factor – the tire wear.
Many people attribute the pollution of cars to exhaust emissions alone (all of us remember the diesel scandals too well), but another factor contributing to environmental pollution from cars is the attrition of the tires, which is a daily occurrence our environment is polluted by gum and added additives. That this is the case, we all know the driving school, in which we all could learn a lot about the profile depth, only we were not aware of this aspect.
Every year in Germany alone, tens of thousands of tonnes of gum pollute our environment caused by tire wear. Where this rubber comes from and how it damages our environment is not yet clear.
We will continue to pursue this theme and hope for new generations of tires that will not wear off in the future.
